What is Link Line?
Link
Line is a pro-active telephone
support service working across
participating areas. The
Service provides a regular telephone contact, in all community languages,
for those whose health, mobility or circumstances could put their quality
of life at risk. Available 24 hours a day 365 days a year the friendly
service regularly keeps in touch with members enabling them to retain
their independence by coping with every day living and to live as full a
life as practically possible.
Our outreach support services include
accompanied support to hospital and medical appointments, shopping either
assisted or on users behalf together with home visits, benefit checks,
help with general household and garden tasks and bereavement support.
The
Telephone Support teams call clients on the same
day at the same time each week
for a friendly social chat. Clients
may just want to pass the time
of day or they may have concerns that they would like
to share.
Link
Line is primarily geared for older people .The projects
have both paid staff and
trained volunteers who provide
the services. They work from a
conviction that Older People should
receive the very best care that
is possible, that no one should
feel isolated or alone in their old
age.

The Link Line Social Franchise Network
of social enterprise projects run by churches and church groups with other
partners in their areas.
Members of the Network have responded
to the opportunity to join a network of organisations and groups to
operate a successful tried and tested Link Line project and access the
well-developed operational, resource and network support programmes.
The Franchise tool kit contains all
the resources and materials to help you set up and run a successful Link
Line project.
